In this fast-emerging and ever-changing global scenario, mere acquisition of degree/diploma does not provide a person with a firm footing in this highly competitive corporate world. Regular updation of knowledge, acquisition of innovative and corporate skills has become a necessary ingredient for a promising and successful career in varied fields. Keeping this fact in mind, the institute always endeavours to organize seminars, workshops and short- term courses on a regular basis to keep the students as well as the faculty of the institute abreast of the latest trends and technology in the realm of technical education. Besides focusing on technical aspects, seminars/workshops on personality development, personal grooming, confidence-building and motivation are also conducted at frequent intervals in the institution so as to instill confidence and self assurance in the students for facing interviews dauntlessly and boldly.

  • To make aware the students about various Self-Employment schemes and Entrepreneurship opportunities available to them, a seminar by ICICI Bank was organised at the college on 10.06.2022



  • An Industrial visit was organised by the college for the students to the Milk Plant Verka on 06.04.2022.



  • To spread awareness about the programmes and schemes for Board and Other Construction Workers (BOCW), a seminar was organised by Dr. Navneet Walia, Principal Govt. Polytechnic College Bhikhiwind, on 15 March 2022. The District Labour Officer Tarn Taran was the main speaker. The seminar was attended by locals and various village representatives.



  • A Special Camp, to facilitate the Differently abled persons, was organised at the college by District Red Cross Society Tarn Taran and Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran on 24.08.2021. Various kits like MSIED Kit, ADL Kit, Tricycle, Artificial Limb, Crutches, BTE, etc were distributed among the Differently abled persons.



    • A Seminar was organized by District Legal Services Authority (DSLA) Tarn Taran on 12.11.2021 to provide information about FREE legal services available to citizens of the country as well as benifits and jurisdictions of Permanent Lok Adalats. Students, locals and sarpanches of the nearby villages participated.



    • To generate awareness amongst the students as well as staff about the need for a clean and green environment and to make them duty-conscious towards the coming generations, Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 550 Janam Shatabdi was celebrated in the institute by planting saplings in and around the campus.



    • Career guidance programmes have regularly been organized with the help of the Office of Deputy Commisioner Tarn Taran, District Bureau of Employment & Enterprises, to make aware the students about various carrier options and job opportunities.



    • Students of the College honoured by Deputy Commissioner, Tarn Taran on Republic Day (26th January 2020) for their excellent performance in the Buddy Program



    • Students of the college participated in Poshan Abhiyan. POSHAN Abhiyaan or National Nutrition Mission, is Government of India's flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers. It was organised in the month of September 2019



    • To facilitate the in-campus placement of the final year students of this college, the institute is organizing Job Fest in collaboration with the Industries and nearby colleges



    • An Education trip to Virasat-e-Khalsa, Shri Anandpur Sahib was organised in the month of October 2019



    • This institute has won five medals in inter polytechnic athletic meet of session 2009-2010


    Sports and games have been made a predominant feature of the institution, so as to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship and team-work in the students. The institute ensures that the Athletic Meet, usually held in the month of March, is an annual and a regular feature in the college. Students of all classes and courses eagerly participate in the various track and field events during the two-day Athletic Meet. The Inter Polytechnic Games are a much-awaited affair as the sportspersons of the institute get an opportunity to display their excellent ground skills and team-spirit in games like Volley-Ball, Foot-Ball, Basket-Ball, Cricket, Kabaddi, Table-Tennis and Badminton.
